Community Training
Citizen Preparedness Academy
The Breathitt County Emergency Management Agency is excited to implement a public education program in order to better enable citizens in preparing for all types of hazards that our communities are subject to.
The BCEMA Citizen Preparedness Academy is a twelve hour program that focuses on the four phases of emergency management and how they pertain to everyday life. Participants will take an in-depth look at how emergency response works publicly and how those same concepts can be applied in our homes and everyday practices. Participants will hear from several community partners and groups to gain insight on what it truly means to be prepared.
Each academy class will consist of four three hour sessions that participants will need to attend in order to successfully complete the program. Each class will be limited to twenty-five (25) participants and depending on demand, we will look at hosting three (3) academy classes per calendar year.
